The Clinical Senate was commissioned by University Hospitals Leicester NHS Trust (UHL) to review the current model of medicine, cardiology and respiratory care across the Glenfield and Leicester Royal Infirmary sites and the proposed high-level model of change (both short and long term). The Senate was asked to provide clinical challenge and a sense check that this will lead to improved safe and equitable care for their patients in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The Trust has a short-term (6-12 months) and long-term (2-3 years) plan in place and sought input from the Clinical Senate to review aspects of the plan and consider/provide clinical opinion.
